ABOUT DOUBLER We have noticed several products creeping into the market to compete with DOUBLER in the last few years. Since they are sometimes confused with DOUBLER we decided a few words to our customers would be appropriate. These products are usually inexpensive and poorly designed with limited lifespan. Compare the DOUBLER specifications with theirs and the truth will be obvious. Now, Here is what a DOUBLER is. Beginning with the case, it is made with no flat sides for a reason. The round sides deflect a shovel when its in the ground and its 1/4" thick walls make it hard to break or cut. Its made of ABS plastic, an imitation rubber, for toughness and inside there is a lot of empty space instead of the potting compound you see in those other products. This allows good air circulation to prevent hot spots, cool the electronic parts and extend the life of each DOUBLER you purchase. The wire is coated with solder to deter corrosion and we are particular about the copper alloy so it won't break when you twist it. The insulation is PVC and extra thick to bond with the case, withstand soil chemicals, water and nicks. The end of each wire is sealed and the bond between is actually two coats with a 48 hour cure time between them. It takes four days to build a DOUBLER but it never leaks. Every hole in our circuit board is plated all the way through to assure good quality solder connections. Testing of individual components and 12 times of the entire board makes imperfect circuits our problem, not yours. Even the label on DOUBLER is special. Its made of aluminum and the printing is not painted on, its anodized into the metal so it is always readable. The adhesive is a special formula to maintain a bond with the case under the most adverse conditions. DOUBLER freezes in Calgary, Canada, cooks in Tucson, Arizona and occasionally falls off a service truck or spends its entire life in a flooded valve box. Still, we bring back every failed unit and dissect it to determine what went wrong, then make changes in production to eliminate the problem. Our warranty returns are consistently below 1/2% and stores often tell us they can't remember when they last saw one of our products fail. When you buy a DOUBLER you can depend on it! Remember, if it doesn't say DOUBLER and TRANSITIONAL SYSTEMS MFG., INC. its not a DOUBLER.
